Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

Art Club: 2nd & 3rd Grade Snowmen

The 2nd & 3rd grade students are such an awesome group of kids! Today, I told them to imagine they had been playing in the snow and fell down. When they opened their eyes, they saw 4 snowman looking down on them! ☃️⛄️☃️⛄️

What would this look like if you were laying on your back, looking up at the sky, and four snowmen were looking down on you? After drawing their snowmen in permanent marker, they switched to washable markers to add color. They added snowflakes to the sky in at least two different colors. Then, to create a watercolor sky, they painted over the snowflakes with water! It’s a fun way to do watercolor without actually using watercolor.

They are so creative and such a well behaved group of kids! They are bringing several of their projects home today. I hope their loved ones enjoy their work as much as I do.

A few of the kids did tell me it would be awesome for Santa to put some washable markers in their stocking this year😉… just in case any parents happen to run into the big guy and want to spread the word. 🎅🏼🎄❤️

FBLA/Yearbook Christmas Project

2023 FBLA/Yearbook Christmas Project

Last week FBLA members provided supplies and helped students in grades K-6 make beaded elf ornaments. The students enjoyed choosing their own beads and patterns to create one of a kind ornaments. FBLA members learned from how things went with grades 4-6 on the first day to know what to do differently the next day with K-3. We had one class period to complete the ornaments so organization was essential and I am so proud of how well these FBLA members did with the students. They enjoyed getting to help them with this project and we hope their families will enjoy these ornaments for years to come. We hope you all have a Merry Christmas! Thank you Mrs.Kathy Huddleston for allowing us to use your Library and all of the the Elementary and High School Teachers that allowed their students to participate.

Art Club: Kindergarten & 1st Graders Love Making Big Messes

2023 Art Club Loves Messes

Kindergarten & 1st graders love making big messes in the art room! They also do a great job of cleaning up their messes, which makes Mrs. Parker really happy. 😍 If you could only have heard these sweet voices singing “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer”, while they were working… Oh, it was so cute! 🎄🦌🎅🏼

We had a few special guests visit the high school today. Our congressman, Jason Smith, spoke to the students about his job in Washington DC and answered questions. We were so proud of our students for the thoughtful questions and engagement. Also, joining us was our county commissioner, David Stubblefield.

FFA: Murder Mystery and Greenhand Ceremony

2023 Murder Mystery and Greenhand Ceremony

On December 2nd we hosted our second Murder Mystery and what a "rompin', stompin'" time! We welcomed 13 year one agriculture students to FFA as greenhands, had the FFA Creed recited by FFA greenhand Chelsie Kornegay, ate some incredible food catered by Couch FCCLA & FACS, and laughed as the mullet mayhem unfolded during the game.

Thank you to each character who participated in the game, every event sponsor, and our FFA parents for helping this event happen!
