Young Writers Writing Contest

Shout out to 7th through 12th grade students for competing in the Young Writers writing contest! Our students worked hard to create epic mini sagas! 65 Couch students’ mini sagas have been chosen by the Young Writers organization, and these students will have the opportunity to become published authors! We are super proud of these students and their hard work! Once parents/guardians give permission, these students’ mini sagas will be published in Hunted - Tales Of Pursuit!

Art Club: The Kindergarten & 1st Grade Snowmen

Art Club: Kindergarten & 1st Grade Snowmen

Oh my goodness. The Kindergarten & 1st Grade students truly have my heart! ❤️

We took a project that the older students did a few weeks ago, and did a simpler version of it today.

Hearing their giggles when I told them to imagine what it would be like to be fall down in the snow and look up to find four snowmen looking down at them was so cute. ☺️

I loved seeing their creativity and how their eyes lit up when they learned how to draw hats, scarves and carrot noses.

Maybe they will get a chance to create REAL snowmen in the coming days or weeks!?!☃️

Hopefully, your children brought their artwork home today! Many of them were very excited to show off their snowmen off to their family.

Art Club: Neurographic Abstract Art

6th Grade learned that art can be an outlet and a way to calm down, reduce stress and become more mindful our actions. Neurographic Art is a fun way to allow ourselves to slow down and be free to create without having to follow a structure.

Homecoming Postponement

Kosh and Couch have made a mutual decision to cancel homecoming tonight for the safety of all students and community members. The weather forecast is calling for snow and possibly freezing rain and we already have frozen ground. The Homecoming Ceremony and games have been moved to Sat., Jan 13, 2024. The Ceremony will be at 4:30 p.m. and the Games will follow at 5 p.m. Thank you for your patience and understanding as calls like this are difficult to make and not always perceived to be right. However, I will always try to err on the side of caution.

There is something about Cardinals in the winter that makes me happy. The 6th grade did a great job creating cardinals sitting on a branch today.
